Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 8 August 2026

1. Who we are

KidSitter is an online introduction service that helps parents and sitters in London find each other. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “KidSitter” mean KidSitter; “you” means the person using the site, whether as a parent or as a sitter.

2. What KidSitter does and does not do

We provide a directory and messaging platform. We are not an employment agency, we do not employ sitters, and we do not supply, supervise or take responsibility for the care itself. Any arrangement, contract or payment for care is directly between the parent and the sitter.

We show safety information such as DBS status, references and verification checks, and we require a DBS certificate on file before a sitter profile can be published. These checks help you make an informed decision, but they do not replace your own judgement. You remain responsible for interviewing, checking documents in person and deciding who cares for your children.

3. Your account

You must be 18 or over to create an account. You agree to give accurate information, keep your login details secure, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put anyone at risk.

4. Membership and payments

Browsing sitter profiles and viewing safety information is free. Messaging sitters requires a paid membership. Membership prices, billing periods and included conversation limits are shown on the membership page before you pay.

Memberships renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation stops future renewals and your membership stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not charge booking fees or take commission on the care you arrange.

5. Sitter listings

If you list as a sitter, you confirm that the information, photos, qualifications and documents you provide are truthful, belong to you and are up to date. You must hold a valid DBS certificate and any registration or insurance the law requires for the services you offer. We may review, edit, unpublish or remove listings, and we may refuse an application.

6. Bookings and cancellations

A booking made through KidSitter is an arrangement directly between the parent and the sitter. We are not a party to it. We are not responsible for the quality of the care given, for a sitter who arrives late, underperforms, cancels or does not turn up, or for a parent who cancels or does not pay.

Parents: if you need to cancel, you must do so at least 24 hours before the booking start time. If you cancel later than that, or the sitter arrives and the booking does not go ahead, the sitter may charge you the full agreed fee for the booking. You accept these terms each time you send a booking request.

Sitters: once you accept a booking you are committing to it. If you need to cancel, you must do so at least 24 hours before the start time. Late cancellations and no-shows are recorded, reduce your visibility in search results and can limit the bookings you are offered, and repeated cases may lead to your profile being unpublished. You accept these terms each time you accept a booking.

Both parties should agree the fee, hours and any expenses before the booking starts. Payment is made directly between the parent and the sitter; we do not collect, hold or refund it.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use KidSitter to harass, discriminate against, defraud or endanger anyone. Do not post unlawful, misleading or offensive content, scrape the site, or attempt to move safety-sensitive conversations off-platform to avoid our protections. Messages may be screened for harmful content and abuse.

8. Content you post

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a licence to host and display it so the service can work, for example, showing your profile in search results. You are responsible for having the rights to anything you upload.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for the conduct, acts or omissions of any parent or sitter, or for loss arising from care arranged through the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notified to you. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@carefinder.co.uk.
