Nursery practitioner
I’ve been working in childcare for over 12 years and it’s something I’ve always been passionate about. I started my journey in childcare because I love supporting children’s development and watching their personalities grow as they learn new skills, explore the world around them and become more independent. I’m Level 3 qualified in Early Years and currently work as an Early Years Practitioner in a private nursery. Throughout my career, I’ve gained experience caring for babies, toddlers and preschool-aged children, supporting their individual needs, routines and development. I’m also a mum myself, which has given me an additional understanding of how important it is for children to feel safe, settled and cared for, and for parents to feel confident in the person looking after their little ones. I enjoy creating a calm, happy and nurturing environment where children feel comfortable and confident. I love using play to encourage learning and development, whether that’s reading stories, singing nursery rhymes, sensory activities, arts and crafts, outdoor play or exploring new experiences. I understand the importance of familiar routines, including mealtimes, naps, bedtime and quiet time. I always aim to follow each family’s usual routine and parenting preferences so that children feel settled and secure. I believe in keeping children engaged through play, conversation and exploration, while making sure they have plenty of opportunities to have fun. Outside of work, I’m kept busy being a mum to my little girl! I enjoy spending time with my family, getting out and about, exploring new places and finding fun activities to do with my daughter. I’m based in Earlsfield and currently looking for ad-hoc babysitting opportunities, particularly evenings and weekends. I’m reliable, approachable and caring, and would love to build trusting relationships with local families.
I love planning fun, engaging activities that encourage children to learn, explore and develop through play. I particularly enjoy: * Sensory play: Exploring different textures, materials, colours and sounds through age-appropriate sensory activities. * Arts and crafts: Painting, drawing, colouring, sticking and getting creative. * Reading and storytelling: Sharing books, looking at pictures, making up stories and encouraging a love of reading. * Music and movement: Singing nursery rhymes, dancing, action songs and musical games. * Outdoor adventures: Going to the park, exploring nature, collecting leaves, playing games and getting fresh air. * Imaginative play: Role play, pretend cooking, dolls, dressing up and small-world play. * Building and exploring: Puzzles, construction toys, shape sorters and activities that encourage problem-solving. * Mess-free creative activities: Water play, mark-making, sensory bags and simple activities that children can explore independently. I always try to adapt activities to suit each child’s age, interests and stage of development. Most importantly, I want children to have fun, feel included and enjoy themselves while learning along the way.
